Hi everyone,This is where I’ll be posting my journal during my time in Taiwan. It’s Friday night at 11:20 p.m. and I’m practically packed. I’ll have to be at the airport by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. Isn’t Micheal just an angel to put up with me and my shenanigans! Flying to Vancouver first and then a 12 and a half hour flight directly to Taipei. Once I arrive, I’ll have a 3 to 4 hour car ride ahead of me to get to the college in Tainan. Here I go!Bye for now,Grace

  • Gracie…let us know if you are ok. Irene said she has your info, but how nice that we can communicate via webpost. I’m sure Michael had a hand in this. Thanks Michael…take care and enjoy. We are sooooo proud of you little sister and I can’t wait to see how all this influences future work! Cheers…

  • Grace,

I hope your tools, materials and you arrived safe and sound. I hope you find time to get a good stretch in. Are you cramped and cricked from sitting squished on a plane for so long?

Lindsay and I saw Lost In Translation on the weekend. The movie is filmed in Japan…part of the lost part is being displaced in a country quite foreign from our own. All this has made me think about you. I wonder how this will inspire your art, your thinking, your spirit.

Keep well dear Grace. I am so excited for you!

  • Hi Grace
You were thought about a lot as you were in the air. In fact, I must have been rather concerned about you before you even left, as I spent a restless night worrying about you sleeping in and missing your flight. I’m sure I needn’t have worried as you probably did not sleep at all.

I was at the U of M workshop and everyone was commenting on your journey and hoping you were fine. I do hope all went well.
Looking forward to news of your safe arrival!

    P.S. This is cool!

  • Our thoughts are with you. It’s a long time for you to be in a strange environment. We admire your courage and are looking forward to reading about your first impressions of Taiwan. Sleep well, and get rid of your jet lag.
