Earlier this year I was invited to nominate an emerging ceramic artist from the Prairie region for the prestigious RBC Emerging Artist People’s Choice Award. I was happy to nominate one of our first graduates of the new MFA program at the University of Manitoba, Monica Martinez. Monica, along with the other four nominees, is currently exhibiting her piece at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, where the winner of the $10,000 award will be announced at a gala event on October 15, 2013. The award is determined by public vote. Voting takes place between September 3 and October 13, 2013: VOTE!
