I am spending six weeks as an artist-in-residence at the Medalta Potteries in the historic clay district in Medicine Hat, AB, working in the Shaw International Centre for Contemporary Ceramics, a beautiful studio built adjacent to the Medalta Museum. I’m staying in the new artists’ lodge nearby (a refurbished former office of the I-XL brick factory) which can hold up to fourteen residents. Here’s the link to my entry on the current Artists-in-Residence page on Medalta’s website. Here you’ll see some of my new works using both traditional and emerging techniques. All photos of artworks by Michael Zajac.
